The Group completed three acquisitions in early July 2025, purchasing established practices in Norwich, Cambridge, and Kingswinford & Wolverhampton. A fourth transaction followed in November with the acquisition of TaxAssist Aylesbury.
Together, the four acquisitions added approximately £1.6 million in fee bank during 2025, taking the total fee income of The TaxAssist Group's directly owned practices to around £3.5 million.
Group Chief Executive Officer, Daren Moore FCCA, said: “The Group’s strategic plan sets out our ambitions to build scale and profitability through three critical objectives – the further development of our franchise networks, the building of complementary businesses to support these networks and the creation of a direct provisioning model.
“In a boost to our direct provisioning plans, I am pleased to announce the acquisition of four exceptionally well-run practices from Jeremy Gilks, Richard and Yvonne Brookes, Lloyd and Sue Evans and Adrian Huntley. All four practices met our key acquisition criteria and will immediately boost The TaxAssist Group’s profitability, as well as providing access to high-performing, efficient operations and experienced staff.
“The Group now operates twelve franchise territories across the UK. We are selective in what we acquire, and these opportunities offer strong potential for continued growth as well as supporting the wider development of our networks in a live practice environment.”
The acquisitions represent a further step in the delivery of The TaxAssist Group's strategic plan, which is focused on three key areas: the continued development of its franchise networks, the expansion of complementary businesses that support those networks, and the creation of a direct provisioning model.
Alongside the financial contribution of the acquired practices, the Group's growing portfolio of directly operated businesses provides opportunities to develop and test processes, systems and initiatives in a live practice environment. Successful approaches can then help inform the continued development of the wider TaxAssist network.
The TaxAssist Group's ownership structure remains distinctive within the franchising sector, with franchisees also holding an ownership stake in the Group. Franchisees operate independent businesses within the TaxAssist network and have the opportunity, if they choose, to become shareholders in The TaxAssist Group.
