For personal reasons, the original Master Franchisees relinquished the Master Franchise rights in 2020 and a new company was created: TaxAssist Direct Australia Pty Ltd. Experienced businesswoman Mandy Sigaloff was appointed as Managing Director for Australia to drive up the growth of the network with a shareholding in the company, with The TaxAssist Group as the majority shareholder.

As Managing Director, Mandy is the first point of contact for anyone wishing to join the TaxAssist Accountants network, as well as overseeing the operation of the Support Centre team which provides training, technical and marketing advice and assistance.

Franchising in Australia

Each year The Franchise Council of Australia and Griffiths University survey the franchise market.

The latest survey reports that:

  • There are 1,344 business format franchise systems operating
  • There are an estimated 98,000 franchised units
  • Franchising employs over 598,000 people

The Franchise Council of Australia Limited (FCA) is the peak body for the $184 billion franchise sector in Australia, representing franchisees, franchisors and service providers to the sector.

The franchise opportunity

Small business clients have never needed the services of our accountants more. Offering a friendly, convenient, local service from welcoming, well located shops, the TaxAssist Accountants network is ideally placed to service this increase in demand.

TaxAssist Accountants franchises are available across all states in Australia, providing qualified accounting professionals the opportunity to build a successful and profitable accounting practice, and an asset for the future.

Franchisees join us with a recognised accounting qualification, typically CPA, CA and NTAA and have a mix of industry and practice backgrounds. Franchisees will also have a tax agent licence, and if not, we can provide supervision for those that are in the following Tax Practitioners Board classifications:

  • 201 – Tertiary qualifications in accountancy
  • 202 – Tertiary qualifications in a discipline other than accountancy
  • 203 – Diploma or higher award in accounting
  • 204 – Tertiary qualifications in law
