The practice started as a family run business in Limerick City with Pat Kelly successfully starting the venture from scratch; building up a loyal client base from his Hartstonge street offices. Son Kevin Kelly, followed his fathers steps into accountancy and re-joined the business in 2009. Kevin saw the potential to grow the practice and managed the successful move over to the TaxAssist brand and the move into a shopfront premises.

Having secured and completely refurbished a shopfront in a prime location in Adare village, the business has grown from strength to strength since; doubling in size. Key to success has been having a welcoming, open door policy for the local business community and in more recent times the implementation of technology.

Now, ten years on, Kevin Kelly is delighted to be be passing the baton of sole director to Declan Reidy, a long-time colleague. Whilst still staying involved in the business, Kevin will be branching out to work on new projects directly helping SME’s to scale and grow.

Declan Reidy joined the business in 2000 and since then has worked his way up through the ranks. Starting out as a trainee he was promoted several times to become practice manager in 2009. In 2016 he became a co-owner. He will now become sole director and take on the mantle of looking after an extensive client base and indeed growing the business. Speaking about his plans for the future Declan said ‘ Myself and the team in TaxAssist Adare have spent the past 12 months working closely with our clients to help them through the raft of government supports available to help them get through Covid 19 and we will continue to do that. As the pandemic eases I am looking forward to developing the business and the services we offer to our clients- including training and support on new software and technologies that will help make SME’s lives easier.’

With a detailed plan for the growth and evolution of the TaxAssist brand, plus the addition of new products and services, these are exciting times for the TaxAssist network.
