TAG Business Services Group forms part of The TaxAssist Group's Complementary Services Strategic Business Unit, which is responsible for developing joint ventures and strategic partnerships with major UK organisations.
Through these relationships, TaxAssist franchisees and their clients will gain access to an expanding portfolio of TaxAssist-branded services designed to complement the Group's core accountancy offering.
TaxAssist Plus is being developed to provide personal and small business clients with access to a broader range of financial and business services. These include funding, financial planning, insurance, business banking, savings and cash management, alongside established in-house services such as payroll and tax consultancy.
Mike has played a significant role in developing the Group's vision for this area and identifying potential strategic opportunities.
He joined The TaxAssist Group Board in 2022 following a distinguished international career in senior executive roles with leading financial services organisations. He subsequently became TaxAssist's largest multi-area franchisee before his practice was acquired by the Group's Practices Business in 2024.
Most recently, Mike served as Group Chief Operating Officer, with responsibility including oversight of the Group's financial services activities and contributing to the development of its long-term growth strategy.
Having stepped back from his executive responsibilities, Mike will continue to contribute to The TaxAssist Group in a non-executive capacity. In his new role, he will act as a senior advocate for the Group with strategic partners, industry bodies and other sector organisations, while also supporting the development of TaxAssist's initiatives representing the interests of small businesses.

His commercial experience, industry knowledge and understanding of our business make him ideally placed to chair TAG Business Services Group as we enter this exciting new phase of growth. We are delighted that, following his retirement from executive life, Mike has agreed to continue supporting the Group in this important non-executive role."
