TaxAssist Accountants will appear as guest experts on a special 4-part series - Start Your Own Business Podcast with Start Up Donut. With over 200,000 downloads, this is a strong channel for the TaxAssist brand to reach engaged small business owners. The series will include episodes from Jo Nockles, Samantha Skyring, Andy Gibbs and Helen Wood. The first episode launches on 9th September and will be available across all major Podcast platforms and promoted across their email subscribers.

During the podcast, we will also promote our free Webinar which is scheduled for 14th October - Making Tax Digital for Income Tax – What you need to know. This will be hosted by Samantha Skyring, and will be designed to answer common MTD questions and encourage enquiries with local TaxAssist practices.

The TaxAssist Accountants Support Centre has been working hard to fully prepare its network and clients ahead of the upcoming MTD roll out. Following on from a successful MTD Roadshow for franchisees and a pricing and servicing webinar, the team have also been working on a number of initiatives including:

  • Practical guide for copying clients to Agent Services Account and signing up clients for MTD for IT
  • A client communication letter, for ensuring clients are aligning the relevant VAT quarters with MTD quarters
  • Software Comparison Table
  • Two TaxCalc webinars focused on how to use TaxCalc to manage the MTD for IT workflows and TaxCalc’s bridging solution for MTD for IT
  • Digital screen content for TaxAssist shops, posters and adverts
  • Leaflets for Sole Traders and Landlords
  • Engagement terms
  • Webinars - We will deliver a technical webinar in September and a webinar covering MTD pricing and packages
  • Business toolkit for franchisees to help to raise awareness of Making Tax Digital
  • A national webpage detailing the three packages to drive awareness and local enquiries

These activities will be supplemented by further MTD focused content and email newsletters coming out over the next few months and beyond. These activities are just a part of the extensive technical, software and marketing support available to the TaxAssist Accountants network helping franchisees to nurture and grow their client base and to build local presence.
