Celeste Godwin’s achievements as Director and Head Accountant at TaxAssist Accountants, have recently been recognised by the Franchise Council of Australia’s 2019 NSW Excellence in Franchising Awards with an award win alongside other high achieving small business owners.

Winner of the ‘Franchisee Community Responsibility & Contribution’, the FCA judges highlighted Celeste’s love of the Forster area in which she was born and educated, which showed through when dealing with her clients and the community. Celeste has helped to raise $100,000 for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, and contributed to The Great Lakes Education Fund to help fund two disadvantaged students further their education. They also praised her entry for ‘Franchise Woman of the Year’, acknowledging her “outstanding submission”.

Celeste said: “I am overwhelmed and immensely proud to have received this award. We established TaxAssist Accountants in Queensland, NSW, ACT and Victoria in 2015 and while it’s been hard work establishing our franchised network, it’s also been hugely rewarding in terms of helping other accountants to establish their own practice under the TaxAssist brand name and helping out hundreds of small business clients attracted to our friendly, local service. It’s also been a pleasure to support local charities in the community where I can.”

Congratulating the winners, FCA CEO Mary Aldred said: “The outstanding effort by the franchisees who took out the awards, and their contribution as successful small to medium business operators, shows the positive impact franchising can have on employment, the economy and community.

“The businesses run by these franchise owners are fantastic examples of small to medium businesses achieving in a tough environment and setting the benchmark for franchising in New South Wales.”

Following their success, the NSW state winners have qualified as finalists for the MYOB FCA National Excellence in Franchising Awards which will be presented at a Gala Awards Dinner, the closing event of the 2019 National Franchise Convention on the Gold Coast on Tuesday 22nd October.
