TaxAssist Accountants has been offering accounting franchises in the UK for 28 years. In 2020, experienced businesswoman Mandy Sigaloff became the Managing Director of TaxAssist Accountants in Australia. Over the last three years she has continued to grow the network and established a number of new initiatives, including a 12-month Academy program.

Mandy said: “There’s huge demand for tax and accounting services in Australia and with our proven, established shop-based model, our additional services including business loans and mortgages, TaxAssist Accountants offers a fantastic opportunity for those that wish to run their own accountancy practice.

“Having spoken to potential franchisees for the last three years, it was clear to me that the interest in our accountancy franchise was there, but obstacles often prevented people from joining. I launched the Academy program 12 months ago to provide a new entry point, with minimal risk, to start the journey to owning your own accountancy practice.

“The Academy enables people to learn practice software, receive full training, technical support and supervision of lodgements. It is a way to gradually transition to public practice ownership contributing to the required experience to apply for a Tax Agent Licence.

“The programme runs over a 12-month period and once the Initial Training Course has been successfully completed, supervision can be provided for work completed. This program has proven to be very popular especially for those still in fulltime employment. At the end of the 12 months, successful graduates have the option to start their own TaxAssist Accountants franchise, seek employment with a TaxAssist Accountants or leave the program completely with their experience they have gained on the program verified by the supervising agent.

“We launched our own company owned storefront in Neutral Bay in July this year. It is a showcase for potential franchisees to see just what can be achieved as well as a training hub for franchisees and Academy participants.

“I’d encourage anyone currently working as an accountant, but without a Tax Licence or with an accountancy degree and want to put it to good use, to get in touch.

“Many of our enquiries are from accountants already running a practice which they wish to expand, this is a great time to consider TaxAssist Accountants. We can provide the brand, marketing, new client leads, additional services for additional revenue such as loans and mortgages as well as training and the technical support you need to be successful.”
